Hutchinson Center Long-Term Follow-Up E-newsletter
Winter 2011 (Vol. 8, No. 1)
The LTFU LifeLinks newsletter is sent quarterly to people who have undergone treatment through Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center's transplant program.

This issue of the LTFU LifeLinks Newsletter features results from our annual LTFU patient questionnaire. Drs. Nandita Khera and Stephanie Lee developed and analyzed a group of questions about follow-up tests and insurance coverage after a transplant.

The questions were included on the adult questionnaire from July 2009 through June 2010. Like the current questionnaire section on cardiovascular health, these questions were designed to be asked for one year in order for our researchers to evaluate specific concerns of interest to our patients.

Using the LTFU questionnaire for short-term studies such as this also allows us to report results to our patients and the medical community. The results from Drs. Khera and Lee’s research were published in the journal Biology of Blood and Marrow Transplantation.

Best regards,
Paul Martin, M.D.
Director, Long-Term Follow-Up
