Dear friends of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center Survivorship Program,
As many cancer patients know, battling the chronic disease can have an energy-zapping effect, causing lowered muscle strength and functional capacity to perform everyday activities. Exercise can be a helpful way for cancer patients to regain fitness and decrease depression or anxiety.
This edition of “Survive and Thrive” features the latest research and recommendations for physical activity of cancer survivors. We hope the information provided will help you make good choices for promoting a healthy, active lifestyle!
Wishing you well,
K. Scott Baker Director, Survivorship Program
