Melissa & MJ on Prairie Mountain

She is so small in this big world but her dedication is amazing. She smiles at me ready for another day. I look at my 4 year old girl putting her backpack on, telling me about the good day we are about to have. And this is why I am doing this.

We are girls with a passion. Not the normal people you usually see on the trail to the summit of a mountain. We are a mother/Daughter duo who are truly passionate about the outdoors. We spend more then half our time in the Canadian Rockies, backpacking, hiking and climbing. If we aren't, then you can perhaps find us kayaking or even winter camping in the wilderness. Does it matter if it is summer or winter? Absolutely not. At 4 years old my daughter has already done more mileage backpacking and hiking then most do in a lifetime. We love what we do, we love to spread the love about the outdoors but we would also love to share with the world this great cause.

Breast cancer takes lives of so many loved ones and so many amazing women out in this world, and one day it could be my mother, myself or my precious daughter. As a mother/daughter duo we feel that we can possibly reach enough people to make a difference.

As we take on this journey of doing 1000km backpacking and hiking, we hope to raise enough awareness in the community and even further. Our main goal is to raise $15000.00 for Breast Cancer by the year 2018 when I will take on Denali, the highest mountain peak inNorth America. Until then please support us on our quest to hike the wonderful trails to raise funds for this much needed cause.
