Annie Croco - Determined to make a difference
Annie Croco was graceful and inspirational. She could find the thread that connected people through generational gaps, social groups and would tie this thread together to form a new community. Helping each person find their place, leaving them feeling inspired and motivated to make a notable improvement on society. It is this spirit that led Annie and her family to keep her positive inertia in motion.
When she was asked how she wanted her memory to be honored, she asked that her friends and community become ambassadors for Project Violet at Fred Hutch, help spread the word, make a donation, get involved. Annie had a very special relationship with the team of scientists. She was their “chief troublemaker.”
Annie specifically hoped that her friends would go beyond financial support by getting to know the team of scientists that intends to change the world.
Annie was inspired by their determination to develop a new platform of drugs from nature, giving a new hope for patients and families facing rare diseases and difficult to treat cancers. She loved their innovative approach to drug development and their passion and compassion to change the world. Annie will always be the firecracker of Project Violet.
